There’s a simple reason why Honda’s four-stroke marine engines lead the world in terms of performance, reliability, fuel efficiency and environmental responsibility… the company has been making them for a long time! Almost 60 years ago, back in 1964, when other companies were dealing with various forms of two-stroke technology with no future, Honda adopted a policy of producing only four-stroke outboard engines. The company’s commitment to world-class four-stroke outboard technology can be found in the words of Mr. Soichiro Honda, when he gave the following directive to Honda’s staff: “Two things are most important: if the engines are not reliable, people’s lives may be at risk. Second, the cleanliness of the sea. What will happen to our oceans, lakes and rivers if all that exhaust mixed with oil is pumped into the water? I don’t care if everyone else is doing two-strokes – Honda has to do four-strokes.”

The Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund supports educational projects of civil society organizations (associations) through public tenders for co-financing projects that provide education for environmental protection and sustainable development, waste management, improvement of the state of the environment and space of urban and rural areas, preservation and improvement of air, soil, water and sea quality, and mitigation of climate change and protection of the ozone layer, as well as for projects of Croatian veterans' associations that aim to enable the rehabilitation and active inclusion of Croatian veterans in society, and related to environmental protection and sustainable development.
